  12.          NEW DATA FILE AND E-MAIL ENCRYPTION UTILITY FOR WINDOWS

  14. Hewitt, Texas - Kent Briggs, author of File Maven and Directory Maven
  15. has announced the release of Puffer 1.0.  Puffer is a password-based
  16. data file and e-mail encryption utility for Windows which allows the
  17. user to keep their personal, business, and electronic transmitted data
  18. private.  Puffer uses the highly rated Blowfish algorithm for fast,
  19. secure encryption and the Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA) for key generation.
  20. Three output formats are supported including binary, self-extracting
  21. executables, and 7-bit text for Internet e-mail.  The shareware version
  22. uses a 32-bit encryption key while the $20 registered version (U.S. &
  23. Canada) uses the more secure 160-bit key.  Puffer also provides a three-
  24. pass, secure file wipe feature for disposing of original (plaintext)
